My Canteen Design Competition

A Planning design idea of Architecture FTSP-ITS is chosen as the best design. This canteen is located between Eco House building and F study class which is having 80 m2 total area. ITS masterplan development that will be built is pedestrian way which is starting from Environment Engineer campus until the backside of Head Office Building (Gedung Rektorat) support this canteen to be potential as focal point. Bird eye view to this location is possible by the existence of 3-floor corridors which was connecting Architecture and Civil Engineering Building; this is the reason why roof form is designed seriously by using ornament. Clearly, the unique character of the building is located on the composite beam element as roof supporting structure; the roof is supported by column in form of 180 degree rotated V. The beam is laminated by chrome plank finish to give metal look. While V rotated column is laminated with wood plank.

Design Concept

In order to make a canteen which is not only as place to eat but also can give deep meaning to the building aesthetic. This concept is translated into an idea, mix of glossy chrome metal and natural wood finishing material. This mix is expected to perform actualization that seriously designed and well managed. andity
