1985 - Stone Lion at the Venice Biennial
1986 - Founds Architecture Intermundium in Milan, a private institute for architecture and urban planning
1987 - First prize in the International Bauaustellung - IBA, Berlin
1988 - Participates in an exhibition on deconstructivist architecture at the Museum of Modern Art in New York
1990 - Opens his own professional studio after winning the competition for expansion of Berlin’s Jewish Museum
