The dramatic ‘Dubai Towers - Dubai’ have been announced as the centerpiece for ‘The Lagoons’ development. Both the towers and the master planned development were designed by TVS. The four towers, ranging from 54 to 97 floors, are clustered to form a choreographed sculpture, representing the movement of candlelight. The Towers will combine in form to represent the evolutionary and innovative achievements of Dubai. The architectural expressions are guided by a sophisticated aesthetic with structural and engineering innovations unmatched by any modern structure. The British architectural firm W.S. Atkins has designed a 170-meter 32-story tower called ‘Iris Bay’ for Dubai. The construction of the building has started last week. The building is sited in the Central Business District of Dubai; a zone of towers called Business Bay that folds around the Burj Dubai, the 808-meter tower designed by SOM.
The iconography of the project is – as the name ‘Iris Bay’ seems to indicate – the pupil of an eye. The elliptical form refers not to the round human pupil however but to something different. It could be the pupil of a cat’s eye. The eye of the Tiger? After the Asian Tiger, now a Middle-Eastern Panther? If we would stretch it the blue Dubai-sky could be the blue iris, while the building acts as the pupil.

Dubai
The modern emirate of Dubai was created with the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. However, written accounts documenting the existence of the city have existed at least 150 years prior to the formation of the UAE. Dubai shares legal, political, military and economic functions with the other emirates within a federal framework, although each emirate has jurisdiction over some functions such as civic law enforcement and provision and upkeep of local facilities. Dubai has the largest population and is the second largest emirate by area, after Abu Dhabi.[4] With Abu Dhabi, it is one of only two emirates to possess veto power over critical matters of national importance in the UAE.[5] Dubai has been ruled by the Al Maktoum dynasty since 1833. The emirates’ current ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is also the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE.
Revenues from petroleum and natural gas contribute less than 6% (2006)[6] of Dubai’s US$ 37 billion economy (2005).[7] A majority of the emirate’s revenues are from the Jebel Ali free zone authority (JAFZA)[8] and, increasingly

“Will you show me a few samples of your ideas for my project so I can get a feel for your work?”
My answer is always no. we has a great entry about spec work in graphic design, and in short: don’t do it. You should be able to refer potential clients to your portfolio to get a feel for the type and quality of the work you do. If your portfolio feels thin, offer to do some pro-bono work for a cause you believe in, or rework pieces you’ve done that that didn’t make the portfolio cut.
In order to explain what spec work is, imagine this scenario:

Problem that often faced by the architect and planner is can’t communicate the idea. Example, in his mind, a deconstructionist architect imagine a spectacular form, full with curving elements, with glossy materials while he closes his eyes. The architect design that form in his head, when the time to communicate the idea comes, there is a problem how to draw it on paper. Considering his planning idea is complicated and difficult to be drawn.
On emergency way to deal with this situation is drawing the idea sketch on paper as quick as possible. This kind of situation can be happened every where, when are at restaurant table we can use tissue as drawing media.
Perhaps at the first time, people will look at the first form sketch as something complicated to be understood. It is often happened, more than one sketch – in a messy group – perspective, view, plan, and details are collapsing each other. An architect always knows that the planning idea that goes through his brain must be caught on the paper so that it will not be just forgotten by, and become planning that just loss by.
